We spoke about:

  • Each of their topics at the AMP Fall Seminar on September 15 on Long Island, NY
  • Pat Davidson- Lecture & Practical- The Future of Program Design: Moving Towards an Objective Biomechanics Based Model
Designing training programs is the application of a coaches’ overall understanding of exercise science. Typically coaches try to use their knowledge of physiology to guide their decision making process. Physiology often times has multiple pathways that end in the same outcome, and coaches can get confused and/or create redundant exercises when attempting to organize everything around physiology. An objective biomechanics model is more streamlined, less redundant, and ultimately the most useful type of program design schematic to utilize to ensure appropriate specificity as well as general development of the athletes you’re working with. This presentation will categorize all trainable movement patterns, planes of movement, along with how to best load these movements at different velocity presentations and duration demands.
  • TJ Lopez– Lecture & Practical- The Athlete Breakthrough: Building a system that produces repeatable results through a principled approach to evaluating, coaching and motivating your clients.
Are your clients consistently reaching and surpassing their goals? Are you measuring their progress and engagement in your program? This presentation will cover personal growth, collaboration, assessment and client-centered coaching. This will help you change the lives of your clients by empowering them to take individualized action steps toward their success.
  • Mike Stella– Lecture- The Pain of Performance: Using the Art of Perception to overcome pain and unlock your movement potential
In this lecture, we will cover and discuss new concepts in neuroscience as they relate to both pain and movement.  In doing so, we will examine current and accepted therapeutic modalities used in rehabilitation and performance training, and how they are best used to influence the nervous system and create windows of movement opportunity.  In addition, we will understand why and how to use the Art of Perception to address pain mitigation, client buy-in, and performance across the rehab and training spectrum.
